RELEASE: Trump Administration Tallies 109 Attacks on Air, Water, and Public Lands in Its First Year

Washington, D.C. — Since taking office one year ago, the Trump administration has taken more than 100 steps—big and small—to roll back protections for the environment. Today, the Center for American Progress Action Fund released an update to its tracker of everything the Trump administration has done to sacrifice the environment and public health to the highest bidder.

According to CAP Action, in just one year in office, President Trump and his administration have taken a total of 109 actions attacking our nation’s bedrock environmental and public health protections. Most recently, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke proposed the largest expansion of offshore drilling in American history.

While Zinke’s latest move gained national attention due to the immediate backlash, many of the administration’s attacks on the environment have escaped high-profile scrutiny because of the nonstop scandals and controversial statements that keep flowing from the White House. The updated CAP Action webpage is a convenient way to hold the administration accountable for all the damage it is doing to weaken bedrock environmental laws that protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the future of our public lands.
