New York, NY – Senator John Edwards will visit the Yorkville Common Pantry in East Harlem – one of New York City’s largest charitable food programs – to highlight a new national project he is heading called Half in Ten (www.halfinten.org). Edwards will hold a meeting with feeding program customers/clients and local anti-hunger advocates, tour the pantry facilities (and see a pioneering pilot project that enables people to apply online for food stamp benefits), and then make brief remarks. The tour and Edwards’ remarks in the first floor pantry distribution area will be open to the press.
