TODAY At 11AM: CAP Action’s National Security Leadership Alliance Announces New Vice Chairs and Discuss Republican VP Pick

On a press call today at 11:00 a.m. ET, Wednesday, July 13, 2016, former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman, Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to the President Rand Beers, and former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Derek Chollet will join Vikram Singh, Vice President for National Security and International Policy at the Center for American Progress Action Fund in announcing the Vice Chairs of the National Security Leadership Alliance, or NSLA.

In addition to announcing the Vice Chairs, participants will also comment on national security expectations for the Republican nominee for Vice President, including recent candidate suggestions. As experts in foreign policy, defense and homeland security, the Vice Chairs will lay out what is needed to ensure the individual selected can fulfill the critical duties of the Commander-in-Chief.

The NSLA is a home for policy-focused rapid response work on key national security issues. The Vice Chairs bring unrivaled experience at the highest level of civilian and military service. The NSLA will promote a progressive vision of national security that rejects a reckless use of American power and embraces our ability to lead the world toward peace, stability, justice and opportunity.
