What bold, progressive solutions look like:

It’s another day in Trump’s America—and another day to stand up for what’s right. Get the facts to fight back.

What’s the most important thing we can do to help working families?

Progressive leaders need to have a strong, direct answer to that question. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) does.

At last month’s Workers Forum, we sat down with progressive leaders to hear their answers, and we’ll be sharing what they told us one at a time.

First up: Sen. Harris sat down with us to share her vision for an economy that works for everyone—not just the rich and powerful. She laid out plans for a working families tax credit and addressing African American maternal mortality.

Check out her ideas for yourself. Listen to and share Sen. Harris’ words on Facebook and Twitter:

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

  • Sen. Harris wants to reform the tax code and provide a $6,000 tax credit to working families making less than $100,000 per year.
  • The tax cut would lift up one in two American families, two in three children, and up to 60% of black households out of poverty.
  • The senator also raised the vital need to address the maternal mortality crisis, which disproportionately impacts women of color.

America’s progressive leaders are on mission, consistently introducing ambitious policy ideas to address some of the biggest issues facing us today. Here are a few highlights introduced this week:

  • GUN VIOLENCE: Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) introduced a comprehensive plan to reduce gun violence. The basic, common-sense premise: “If you need a license to drive a car, you should need a license to own a gun.”
