A crisis of health and leadership

It’s another day in Trump’s America—and another day to stand up for what’s right. Get the facts to fight back.

Trump and Republicans have left us grossly unprepared for this global pandemic

What Trump’s address last night accomplished: promote panic. What Trump’s address didn’t do: lay out any coherent plan to combat the coronavirus crisis. As coronavirus continues to spread, here’s the state of play:

  • Trump’s European travel ban: The travel ban that Trump announced is mostly useless, considering COVID-19 is already spreading in the United States. Trump’s exemption for the United Kingdom is equally confusing—until you remember that Trump owns three golf courses in the U.K. and Ireland.
  • Republicans’ outrageous response: Yesterday, Senate Republicans blocked a bill to provide paid sick leave during the coronavirus crisis. This morning, both House and Senate GOP leaders came out against House Democrats’ coronavirus relief bill, a critical emergency package to provide free coronavirus testing, paid sick leave, food assistance for low-income families, and more.

Trump and his allies’ inaction and incompetence is putting our health and economy at serious risk.
