Today, the Supreme Court reversed decades of law that was not only sound precedent but a necessary protection for millions of people seeking reproductive health care.

Pursuant to the Dobbs decision released today, millions of young women face a future in a country where their bodies and lives are not their own.

In the news

  • The Supreme Court struck down a New York law restricting concealed firearm carry. About one-quarter of Americans live in states with similar laws, many that have been on the books for decades. As Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) pointed out, many of the states with the lowest rates of gun violence are governed by similar laws, which are now sure to be challenged and overturned.
  • The U.S. Department of Education has agreed to cancel $6 billion in student debt for 200,000 borrowers who were defrauded by for-profit colleges and universities.
