Ellie Langford is the senior director of strategic partnerships for the Digital Advocacy team at American Progress. With a deep background in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, message development, and disinformation response, Langford has built and tested communications strategies for major nonprofits and foundations. She has worked in opposition research and media criticism, monitoring extremist narratives online and writing about misinformation and disinformation in the media. She is co-author of the 2020 book “The Lie That Binds,” which tracks the history of anti-choice disinformation in the United States and its impact on today’s political landscape.

Langford graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in government and English. A lifelong rower and avid sailor who traded California’s Bair Island for the Connecticut River, and later, the Potomac, Langford still spends as much time as possible on the water. Lately, she’s been exploring the Chesapeake, toddler in tow.
