Rasheed A. Malik is a senior policy analyst for Early Childhood Policy at American Progress. Prior to attending graduate school, Malik was a government affairs and communications associate for the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance, an organization with the goal of making the New York Harbor a shared, resilient, and accessible resource for all New Yorkers. He previously completed a graduate-study internship with the Poverty to Prosperity Program at American Progress, focusing on strengthening the social safety net, including Social Security Disability Insurance and unemployment insurance systems.
Malik holds a bachelor of science in public affairs from Baruch College of the City University of New York, or CUNY, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two young children.
