Shortly after taking office, the Trump administration signed a series of executive orders that signaled a comprehensive anti-immigrant and anti-refugee agenda. The first executive order banned Muslim refugees and would cripple the U.S. refugee resettlement program. The two subsequent executive orders laid the blueprint for President Donald Trump’s deportation force, increasing immigration enforcement actions and increasing enforcement resources at the Southern border and in the interior of the country.

President Trump’s Muslim and refugee ban created chaos at airports around the country and left refugees in limbo. As attorneys and advocates worked around the clock to represent these refugees, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were conducting raids throughout the country. These raids and increased enforcement actions have resulted in the deportation of a mother of U.S. citizen children, the arrest and detention of a transgender woman who was a victim of domestic violence, and the unjust detention of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program recipients.

Join the Center for American Progress Action Fund and expert panelists as we examine the domestic and national security implications, as well as the community impacts, of these executive orders.
