Chris Martinez is the associate director for Domestic Climate at American Progress. He previously served as counsel for the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Committee on Natural Resources, under Subcommittee Chair Katie Porter (D-CA) and Committee Chair Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ). Prior to working for Congress, he was a senior attorney for the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Inspector General, then for the federal Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
Martinez earned a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
