Tony Hanna is a campaign associate with the Center for American Progress Action Fund War Room team, focusing on state and local advocacy campaigns.

Prior to joining American Progress, Hanna worked primarily in the field of refugee and immigrant education in Tennessee, where he founded and taught a unique college readiness course for refugee youth in Memphis. During his undergraduate career, Hanna directed the community service program at Rhodes College—which, in 2016, ranked second on Princeton Review’s list of colleges whose students are the most engaged in community service.

Hanna graduated from Rhodes College with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and political science and a minor in educational studies. He also holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
