Heidi Schultheis is a policy analyst for the Poverty to Prosperity Program at American Progress. Before joining American Progress, Schultheis worked as an analyst for District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) in the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs, which operates the Afterschool Program. Prior to her role at DCPS, Schultheis worked in homeless services at Community of Hope in Washington, D.C., where she gained experience in housing policy, disability policy, public benefits programs, and data analysis. She also has a background in print journalism, having worked as a reporter for Los Angeles Times Community News and as a copy editor for ACCESS Magazine at the University of California, Los Angeles’ (UCLA) Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies.
Schultheis holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA, and a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Georgetown University.
