J. Egler

J. Egler is a policy analyst for LGBTQI+ Policy at American Progress. Before joining American Progress, they managed adult mental health programs for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Previously, they worked on the Texas legislative sessions with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Texas, and then with the National Association of Social Workers Texas Chapter. They received their bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and their Master of Science in social work from the University of Texas at Austin. Egler is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and is excited to return to the east coast. Outside of work, they enjoy spending time with their dog, Spot, and keeping up with the New York Liberty.
