Michael Freeman is a policy analyst on the Conservation Policy team at American Progress. His background is in terrestrial and estuarine conservation science. He comes to American Progress from the Pew Charitable Trusts, where he spent three years as a Research Associate focusing on public land and coastal ecosystem conservation, carbon sequestration, and institutionwide data analysis and review. He is a Washington, D.C., native and received his master’s degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, in forest disturbance ecology.
