Hang Liu is the director of speechwriting for American Progress’ Executive staff. Prior to his current position, Liu served as a presidential management fellow and speechwriter for then-Secretary Julián Castro at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under then-President Barack Obama and as a communications aide with the Hillary for America 2016 campaign. Liu is a graduate of Harvard University and Brooklyn Law School and is also a proud native of New York City.
