Rachel Rosen is the senior director of Broadcast Communications at American Progress, where she oversees broadcast strategy. She helped co-found and launch American Progress’ podcast, “Thinking CAP,” and serves as its supervising producer. Prior to joining American Progress, Rosen was a producer at CNN for more than a decade. She worked on several political shows at CNN, including, most recently, “State of the Union with Candy Crowley” and the political roundtable program “Inside Politics.”

Prior to that, she covered the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns from the campaign trail. Rosen won an Emmy award for her work on the 2012 election night. That same year, she helped produce the presidential debate that was moderated by Candy Crowley at Hofstra University.

Rosen was part of the CNN team that won a Peabody Award for coverage of the Arab Spring and the Gulf oil spill and is the recipient of a duPont Award for CNN’s coverage of the tsunami in South Asia. She started her journalism career at Maryland Public Television and then moved to CNN’s London bureau to cover business news.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Rosen holds a bachelor’s degree in television production from Boston University.
